____________________________________

I have been an artist, in one form or another, for my entire life.

I began to paint twelve years ago, while raising a family and establishing my career as a psychotherapist.

My earliest work focused on representing ordinary objects in unusual ways. I found beauty in unnoticed objects after they’d worn out their usefulness, like rusty tools, old keys, and broken glass.

After a few years I began working in mixed media, using paper and paint to create more loosely defined pieces. They were infused with texture, shape, and color, involving a process that was far more intuitive.  Each painting's undefined quality enabled the viewer to interpret the mood and create their own meaning.

I am currently focused on the urban landscape.  Once again, I am seeking out less traditional beauty.  As a painter, I am motivated and challenged to present the starkness or chaos of these scenes in a way that can be appreciated by the viewer.
