Paul was born and lives in Pelham, NH, but is well known on the Newburyport art scene. His numerous exhibits include the Beacon Hill Art Walk; Kennedy Studio, Bromfield Gallery and Eclipse Gallery in Boston; a one man show at the World Trade Center in Boston; a group show in Normandy, France; and most recently, a group show at the Firehouse Center in Newburyport. Paul's work is characterized by light and dark relationships in subtle and obvious situations, which interpret nature's beautiful moments of energy. He uses vibrant colors and light to convey a deep sense of space in his landscapes, finding his own ground between Impressionism and Expressionism. He writes, "Recently I've been attracted to dark, storm like themes, as well as the warm colors of the western landscape...they call to me, and interestingly enough, have become part of dreams".
